Using TACTICOOL

1. Create a deputy profile

Go to Profiles and fill in your name, badge, rank, division, and (if you have one) assignment/callsign. This profile lives on this device only and is what pre-fills your reports.

2. Register a character (recommended)

Right after creating your first profile, TACTICOOL offers to register it as a character on the server. This is optional but unlocks admin recognition, operations access, and character recovery on another device.

Registering shows a recovery code once. Write it down (Discord DM to yourself, notes app, whatever survives you clearing your browser). It is the only way to get back into this character from a different device or after clearing your cache — TACTICOOL cannot recover it for you without it.

3. Fill a form

Open any form from the home page. Fields tied to your profile (name, badge, rank, division, assignment, callsign) are pre-filled automatically; dates default to today and times to now. Everything stays editable — the pre-fill is a starting point, not a lock.

4. Copy and publish

Once every required field is filled, the right-hand panel turns READY. Use Copy to copy the BBCode to your clipboard, or Post on LSSD to open the correct forum posting page in a new tab with the title pre-filled — you still paste the BBCode and submit yourself; TACTICOOL never posts on your behalf.

Recovering a character on another device

On the Profiles page, use Recover a character and enter your recovery code. This registers the new device and issues you a fresh recovery code — the one you just used stops working immediately.
